Climate Control Definition
The term climate control refers to the ability of an electronic device such as a cooling and heating system to adjust and regulate the humidity and temperature. The museums around the world observe a uniform climate control to conserve the collections in them. These rules were set in London in 1970s. The rules require museums to maintain 70 degrees Fahrenheit and 55 percent relative humidity. Climate control adhering to this standard is achieved through HVAC (heating, ventilating and air conditioning). Concerns on global warming have made art conservators around the world discuss and debate an alternative to the set rule to achieve climate control in museums.
