Rose Tapestry Definition
Tapestry is a textile art form which has its origin in the Hellenistic times and flourished in Europe during the 14th century. Rose tapestry are floral designs which are woven on to linen. Unlike cloth weaving, the warp threads in tapestry is hidden in the completed work. The threads usually used are wool or cotton, but may include silk or gold. Ross Tapestry designs can be seen in antique curtains, sofa covers and mural arts of churches and European palaces. Rose Tapestry was also used in porcelain articles made in the late 19th century in which the coarse rose tapestry designs were pressed on to the porcelain which left the tapestry designs on the finished porcelain.
