Rose Mandarin Definition
Rose Mandarin porcelain is one among the China porcelain designs of mid-1800 developed for the purpose of export to western countries. Rose Mandarin design is similar to Rose Medallion design which was developed in the same time period. A porcelain which looks like Rose Medallion and having only people in the designs, is a Rose Mandarin. Rose Mandarin design can be seen commonly in cups, plates saucers and pitchers exported to the western countries. Pink and blue are the most dominant color used in a Rose Mandarin design. China porcelain was widely imported to US and Europe till late 1800s and it’s commonly found. However, large specimens are difficult to find.
