Pincushion dolls are those dolls which has its upper part has porcelain finish and the lower part will have tiny holes for pulling the thread to stitch it together with a fabrics which are usually voluminous which looks like a skirt. These figurines were usually used for covering tea pots, powder box, whisk broom or lamp instead of a lid. This makes the pots look like a fancy object. The sizes of these dolls may vary according to the object which is to be covered. These dolls were popular during 1900s.
