Art Conservator Definition
Art Conservators are person who are skilled in preserving and conserving the artworks, historical buildings and sites.  They assess and analyze the deterioration and preserve and treat the surface of artifacts that had discolored, faded, or flaked to restore. Textile, books and paper works are cleaned and restored by them when infected with insects and molds or they prevent them from these types of infestation. They also plan to conserve the artworks, buildings and sites of historical value in areas prone to earthquake, fire, and flood. Generally, the conservator specializes in a particular type of object or material, such as oil or water paintings, books, sculptures, or fabrics. They work in art galleries, museums, or work as freelancers.
