American Colonial Art Definition
American Colonial Art refers to art cultivated prior to the inception of the United States of America by its any of its thirteen original colonies. As the colonies were not wealthy at the time, most colonial art can be characterized as rugged, simple, and unassuming. Again, for lack of egregious wealth, the most notable art forms were simple paintings, architecture, and furniture.
