Ambrotype Definition
Ambrotype is a photographic process that originated in the mid 19th century. In this photographic process, glass negatives were bleached and backed by a black background, which gave the image a positive effect. This process was introduced by Frederick Scott Archer and Peter Fry. Being cheaper and easier process, it replaced the daguerreotypes.
