Spanish Art Definition
Spain has a rich art history ranging from Paleolithic to the modern ages. Altamira cave and the Mediterranean arch are examples of superior Paleolithic cave paintings. Spanish art is influenced by Moorish and Islamic rulers. The Cordoba mosque of the Caliph period illustrates Spanish art of the period. The Renaissance was influenced by Italian art and Charles V Palace (Granada) and the El Escorial monastery (Madrid) built during the period are still admired.
