Neo Impressionism Definition
‘Neo-Impressionism’ refers to a movement which was started by Georges-Pierre Seurat, as a response to Impressionism. This movement employed the technique known as pointillism on the basis of scientific positioning together of drops or dots of pure color. In this process the colors are automatically blend by the brain in the involuntary optical mixing process. The other artists who played a vital role in this movement were Camille Pissaro, Paul Signac, Theodoor van Rysselberghe, and Henry Edmond Cross.
