Daurys Definition
The term D’aurys refers to a mark which was embossed on the commercial cameo glass wares that were produced between the two world wars. These glasswares were produced by Wilhelm Kralik Sohn, a Bohemian glassware manufacturing company which was headquartered at Lenora in Czech Republic. The glassworks reached its highest peak during the 1890s. The decoration is distinctive of the simpler two- or three-colored cameo glass of the period. Several characteristic patterns and decors of the smelted-decorated glass were produced as long as until the 1920s and during 1940s. The pieces that were embossed with the mark D’aurys were produced after 1918.
