Commemorative Definition
Commemorative collectibles refer to articles made to honor people with national fame. They may also be made in honoring members of royalty. Events like coronation or national monuments may also find a place in commemorative articles. The half dollar in honor of the 400th anniversary of Columbus’ voyage is considered to be the first commemorative coin. Other commemorative collectibles include buttons, badges, plates, beakers, bells and bowls.
