Color Temperature Definition
Color Temperature refers to the spectral properties of a light source. It is the temperature of a black-body radiator that emits light of a particular hue which is equivalent to that of the light source. Color temperature has application in areas such as photography, publishing, astrophysics, and horticulture. Color Temperature is usually stated in terms of absolute temperature by resorting to the unit symbol ‘K’ which means Kelvin. Color temperatures that exceed 5000K are termed as ‘cool and color temperatures between 2700-3000K is regarded as ‘warm colors’.
