Union Porcelain Works Definition
The Union Porcelain Works was the first and primary producer of porcelain wares in America. This pottery company was founded by a group of immigrant German potters in 1854. The factory originally started in Green point, and later became a part of Brooklyn, New York. The company manufactured Rococo Revival pitchers with leafy scrolls and ear-shaped handles. A good collection of Union Porcelain Works are displayed in Brooklyn Art Museum located in New York City.  The kidney shaped plate is famous. Jugs, figurines, vases, and bowls were also made.
