Shaft Grave Definition
Shaft grave is a burial pit in the shape of a deep rectangle with vertical sides. The famous shaft graves are Circle A and Circle B graves found in Mycenae, Greece. Household items, swords, daggers and drinking cups were found in shaft graves. The floors are lined with pebbles and roofs covered with wooden planks. Shaft graves date back to late Bronze Age.
