Passage Grave Definition
The term Passage Grave which is also referred to as Passage Tomb refers to a burial chamber entered through a long, tunnel-like passage. Passage Graves usually date from the Neolithic Age and the construction of passage graves was usually carried out with megaliths and smaller stones. There are passage graves which do not contain evidence of human remains an example for such passage grave is Maeshowe. Not all passage graves have been found to contain evidence of human remains. One such example is Maeshowe. Megalithic art has been found carved into the stones at some passage grave sites. Passage graves are seen spread widely in lands along the Atlantic coast of Europe.
