Engraved Glass Definition

In the context of antiques, ‘engraved glass’ may refer to ornamented glassware decorated using engraving technique.  To do the engraving, the glass object is first cooled and then patterns or designs are cut into the glass surface. Generally the cutting is done with the help of a rotating copper wheel, the object is placed against the rotating wheel that is fed with an abrasive.
