JPEG Definition
JPEG or Joint Photographic Experts Group develops and maintains standards for computer image files. The term also refers to the lossy compression technique employed in creating or converting an image. JPEG can reduce the file sizes to almost 5% of its normal size. Therefore, JPEG files are used in websites and emails. However, the JPEG image losses some detail during compression and they are irrecoverable.
