Elitism Definition
Elitism refers to the belief that certain people or group deserves special treatment on account of their wealth, skills or education. In the context of art, elitism refers to the attitude that art is out of reach of the masses. People supporting elitism believe that art can be enjoyed only by a select few. Similarly, only the rich will be able to own art works of prominent artists.
