Doric Definition
The term Doric is seen used in relation to architecture. It is one among the three main architectural orders of the classical or Greek architecture. It is the simplest, oldest, and most massive of the classical orders. Ancient builders and developers frequently used this Doric order. Doric columns were developed in Greece as early as the 6th century BC. A Doric column is heavier and thicker than the columns of the other orders. Doric columns were often used by ancient builders in the lowest level of a multi story structure/building.
