Bit Depth Definition
The term Bit depth is the number of bits used to indicate the color of a single pixel in a bitmapped image. In a bitmapped image, the smallest unit of data of a picture is represented by the number of bits. Thus, Bit depth refers to the color information or number of possible colors that can be included or stored in an image. When the bit depth of an image is higher, it can store more colors.
