Sung Definition
Sung, in the context of art refers to the Chinese dynasty reigned during 960 – 1279. The Sung dynasty is considered to be the golden era of Chinese art. The paintings of the period were mainly landscapes, birds and flowers. The latter years of the dynasty had turbulent times and the paintings of the period depict regret, acceptance and longing.
