Sarreguemines Definition
When used in the context of antiques, the term ‘Sarreguemines’ refers to the pottery at Sarreguemines that was produced in mid to late 18th century. The porcelain factory in France, Utzschneider and Company, produced ceramics in Sarreguemines, Lorraine, starting 1775.  The company made decorative accessories, ornamental ware, and different types of domestic utility in different colors and designs. However, the color range of the products was restricted to shades of brown and beige during the mid nineteenth century.
