Prairie Style Definition
Prairie style was an architectural style that was common in mid-western United States during 19th and 20th century. This style marked the use of flat roofs with windows of horizontal bands. These roofs and overhanging heaves resembles a landscape . This style of architecture, introduced the concept of interior space and had its construction was fused with undecorated natural materials. Sloping roofs, private gardens and heavy set chimneys were the highlights of prairie style of architecture.
