Prostyle Definition
The term Prostyle refers to an architectural style commonly found in Greek and Roman temples in which the cult statue usually stood. In Prostyle the columns stand in front of the main body or portico or sanctuary of the temple and extend its full width or across the whole front. Prostyle is also referred to building with pillars along the front portion only.
