Noritake Definition
The word ‘Noritake’ is associated with Noritake Co., Ltd, a Japanese company that manufactured table-ware, other goods and pottery in 1904. Noritake porcelain was manufactured by Nippon Toki Kaisha. In 1914, the company manufactured their first dinner set in western style called ‘Sedan’ and started competing with the European porcelain market. The dishes were white in color with a cream border, and with a design of small flower sprays. Noritake also introduced fancy wares in 1920. Early Noritake porcelain wares had the alphabet ‘M’ as a mark to denote Morimura Brothers until 1950. Morimura Brothers is a distribution company based in New York.
