Lossy Compression Definition
Lossy Compression refers to data compression technique where some data is lost or discarded permanently. When decompressed, the data will not be back to 100 percent of the original. Lossy Compression results in smaller compressed files. JPEG image and MP3 audio formats are examples of lossy compression.
