Image Definition
Image refers to the representation of a person or object which is formed by a camera, artist, mirror, etc. Steve Mithen defines art as “a set of artefacts or images with symbolic meanings as a means of communication.” (The Prehistory of the Mind: The Cognitive Origins of Art, Religion and Science. 1999). The term image also refers to visualizing a person or a thing in the mind hearing or reading a description. In the context of computers, image refers to the imitation of the contents of a storage device such as a hard disk or on another storage device such as network server.
