Gillinder Definition
Gillinder refers to pressed glass used as decorative glasses and tableware made by William T. Gillinder of Philadelphia. In 1863, he made the first pressed glass. His company made small, marked pieces of glass to sell as souvenirs. Frosted glass made by Gillinder is still popular. Acid was used to etch the glassware designs.
