Fauvism Definition
Fauvism is an art movement originated in France in the early years of 20th century. The term Fauves means wild beasts and the term Fauvism originated from the use of vibrant colors by the artists of the period. Henri Matisse and Andre Derain were prominent members of the
movement. Fauvism artists were influenced by Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Georges Seurat and Paul Cezanne.
