Emulsion Definition
Emulsion is a colloid or a mixture of two or more liquids that generally do not mix with each other. An emulsion is created when small drops of an immiscible liquid are suspended into another liquid with which the first liquid will not mix. The term is also seen used to refer to the light sensitive coating, which consists of fine grains of silver halide suspended in gelatin that is seen on materials such as photographic film. This is normally called photographic emulsion. This photo sensitive coating may be seen on glass plates, paper, fabric, and paper. In addition, the term is used to refer to paint that do not have a glossy effect when it dries up.
