Direct Carving Definition
Direct carving is a method of carving which gradually gives a sculpture that is evolved from the shape of the block or material on which the artists work on. The shape of the block usually suggests the shape of the sculpture in direct carving. As the artists do their work the block acquires the desired shape in this artwork.
