Cookbooks Definition
Cookbooks contain kitchen references and collection of recipes. Earlier, cookbooks were written by chefs. Later, cooking instructions were written by upper class females for the common families. Fannie Farmer developed the present cookbook genre. Cookbooks of the early 19th century had information on making soap, setting table, maintaining house, home remedies etc. Cookbooks by churches and charities have great importance among collectors.
