Constructivism Definition
Constructivism is an art movement started in 1917. Vladimir Tatin, a Russian sculptor started this modern movement in art. The purpose of this movement was to build abstract sculpture for the industrialized society. Modern technology and materials like glass, steel, plastic, and wood were used in this method. Antonie Pevsner and Naum Gabo introduced this movement to Western Europe. Western art during the twentieth century was influenced by the principles of this movement. In Russia, by 1921 the influence of this movement ended due to political reasons.
