Cobra Definition
The COBRA or cobra was a European art movement that was founded in Paris in the 20th century.  Karel Appel, Constant, Corneille, Christian Dotremont, Asger Jorn, and Joseph Noiret were the founders of the movement. It was active from1948 to 1951. This movement was inspired by Marxist ideas. Their artwork was experimental. Children's art and drawings, primitive and folk art forms, and the works of Paul Klee and Joan Miró inspired the movement. They discarded western culture and its consequences in modern art.
