Castrum Definition
Castrum is the name of a Roman fortified military camp. It is rectangular in shape and is uniform all over the Empire. It consists of two main roads at right angles which connected two gates built in walled towers covered with walls around them. Castra (singular of castrum), in Latin is a term used to refer to buildings or piece of land reserved to use as military position.
