Taxidermy Definition
It is an art where animal skins, along with the scale, fur, or feather, are prepared, stuffed and mounted to display and have lifelike appearance to them. This process was started at the end of 17th century. All vertebrae animals, including birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians can be displayed thus. Huntsmen display their hunting trophies with the aid of taxidermy. In museum or research labs, taxidermy is used to classify the species of animals.
