Plagiarism Definition
The term plagiarism is derived from the Latin word plagiarius which means a kidnapper. It is Roman poet martial who first used this word in the 1st century while complaining that the verses of his poem were been kidnapped by another poet. Later, the word plagiary was introduced in English by Ben Jonson who is a dramatist to indicate a person who had committed a literary theft.   Plagiarism means copying or taking of others ideas whether it may be creative or artistic and possessing and publishing it as their own work. It is a kind of thieving and publication of another’s, linguistic, thoughtful, expressive ideas. Even though the term means stealing, nowhere the term is used to refer any crime or offence legally.
