Nymphenburg Definition
Nymphenburg is a porcelain factory. This was founded in 1747 outside Munich and was later shifted to Nymphenburg in 1761. Earlier the factory made hard paste porcelain and the quality improved from 1757 and started making Rococo figures. The factory later specialized in producing small boxes and cane handles. It also produced tableware and veilleuses. The factory mainly produced classical figures, Sevres Empire style tableware, reliefs and busts in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. In the 20th century the products were art nouveau tableware and figures.
