Monmouth Definition
Monmouth, in the context of antiques refers to the pottery made in Monmouth Pottery Company, Illinois. The Company began functioning in 1892 and made salt glazed utilitarian wares. The wares had maple leaf mark till 1930. When the Company was purchased by Western Stoneware, they added the wording and blue coloring to the logo.
