Impasto Definition
The word impasto is an Italian word which means a mixture or dough. This term is used to refer both painting and potting. Generally this word refers to a technique of mixing the paint like a paste while painting. In this technique, paint is applied thickly on canvas and made to mix on the canvas itself such that the paint gets dried right on the canvas to form a texture. The texture creates an image of paint coming out of the canvas.
