Iconoclast Definition
Iconoclasts are those who destroy the religious icons or images which are considered sacred. Iconoclasts are also people who destroy the art work associated with sacred and religious places. Iconoclasts were at its heights during 8th and 9th centuries and were a subject of controversy during the Byzantine Empire. They also demolished the sacred images and also barred those icons from display. Modern iconoclast attacks ones established beliefs and is opposed to traditional practises. Marcel Duchamp who was a French artist was a modern iconoclast.
