Hull Definition
Hull refers to a pottery company founded in 1905 by Addis E. Hull, at Crooksville in Ohio. The company bought the Acme Pottery Company in 1907. Initially the Hull pottery made only ceramic wares. From 1917, the company started demonstrating their skills in art pottery and commercial wares. The company experimented with different styles in cookie pots including the shape of a bean pot, a baby and an apple. The popular Hull dinnerware includes Little Red Riding Hood lines. The gloss art wares and matte wares of the company also remain popular. The famous patterns and lines of Hull pottery include Parchment and Pine, Flora, Tropicana and Woodland. The company closed its business in March 1986.
