Graphite Definition
Graphite is a form of carbon that is most stable in standard conditions. It has a metallic shine and a greasy feel. It is available in stick, powder or any other form. In lead pencils graphite is used by compressing it with fine clay. It is also used in lubricants, paints, coatings etc. Graphite is known as black lead or plumbago.
