Droit Moral Definition
Droit moral is a term of French origin, stands for "moral right". The term refers to the right of creators over their work. Moral right helps creators to have complete control over their creations. It prevents an artist's work from being altered without his/her permission. In the U.S., "moral rights" normally refer to the right of a creator to prevent any alteration, correction, modification, or any other revision to his/her work. The person who owns the artist’s work is also restricted from altering the work. The Visual Artists Rights Act is the U.S. federal that protects the moral rights of authors of “works of visual art”.
