Daguerreotype Definition
Daguerreotype is an ancient photographic process of United States that was popular during the 1840s and 1850s. In this process the photographs were developed on a light-sensitive metallic plate mostly made of copper and coated with silver by using mercury vapor. Majority of images that were developed by this process were portraits that had to be viewed from a particular angle.
