Christmas Definition
In relation to antiques, the word ‘Christmas’ relates to vintage Christmas collectibles like Christmas trees, decorations, curios etc. It also includes Santa Claus figures, distinct dishes, games and covering papers. For example: A Belsnickle is a figure of a Christmas Father from nineteenth century, a kugel is a heavy ornament of early days. It is made of thick glass with zinc or lead lining. It usually has a covering made of colored wax. The first set of decorated dinnerware with a Christmas tree was made by Spode in 1938. Annual limited-edition Christmas plates from Royal Doulton is a very famous Christmas series.
