Antefix Definition
In architecture, antefix refers to a vertical slab used to cover the joints between the rows of tiles in a roof top. It also helps to protect the wooden parts of the roofed structure from the elements of nature. Generally, they are made of terracotta. However, in ancient Greek and Etrusan buildings’ tiled rooftops, ornamental antefix is seen used.
