Acid Definition
The term is used to refer to a class of substances with specific synthetic properties. Acids can dissolve metals and weaken the cellulose component in textiles, cardboards, and papers. Some people use acids and acidic materials in the art making process. However, art conservatists are concerned with their damaging properties and do not favor their use in art works.
