Acanthas Definition
In antiques, acanthus is an ornamental design that looks like thorny leaves from the Mediterranean species of Acanthus genus of plants. The leaves are similar to leaves of dandelion, thistle or artichoke plants. The motif was generally used in ornaments and architecture by the ancient Greeks and Romans.
