The Wadsworth Atheneum’s Great Chain of Being

The exhibition of over 100 photographs will depict details of various masterpieces from the walls and pedestals and storage vaults of the museum.  From the least important form of life to the greatest, Dion’s Great Chain will include microorganisms and invertebrates, fish and reptiles, birds and dogs, apes and man, spirits, angels, demigods and, finally, God.
